Kelantan Photowalk : Dried Salted Fish
07 February, 2012 - Tuesday, It's a pleasure to welcome one of my friend from Malacca ( Azim Idris ) to my hometown, Kelantan. So my friend ( Tuan Azizi ) and i have already planned up a photowalk to welcome Azim Idris in Kelantan, kind like that, even though it's just a small photo outing but i prefer to called it photowalk. So we went to a place where salted fish were manufactured which is situated in Geting, Tumpat for the first day. Happy to say, the day went tremendously. I have a little bit information about salted fish, well then have a good day folks.
Salted fish or "ikan masin" is one of the oldest ways to preserve fresh fish in order to prevent them from decaying. Before refrigeration technique was invented, fish and other seafood were cured in salt or salt water (brine). Other than preserving the fish with brine, dried fish is also very popular. The fish are gutted, sprinkled heavily with coarse sea salt and then left to dry on the beach in the hot sun for several days. The result is desiccated fish, free of moisture, which can be kept for months to be made later into many kinds of food.

"Bharatanatyam"
Saturday, 03 March 2012 - I've got a chance to attend a very beautiful show called "3 Faces" at Akademi Seni Budaya Dan Warisan Kebangsaan ( ASWARA ) which is situated in Jalan Tun Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. The show was really awesome and one of the show is "Bharatanatyam Dance".
A little bit about Bharatanatyam Dance from CyberKerala.com, Bharatanatyam, also spelt Bharathanatyam, is a classical dance form of South India, said to be originated in Thanjavoor of Tamil Nadu. It was known as "Daasiyattam" since performed by Devadasies in temples of Tamil Nadu long ago. The name 'Bharatanatyam' is derived from three basic concepts of Bhava, Raga and Thaala. The modern Bharatanatyam was systematically regularized by well known 'Thanjavoor Brothers', Ponnayya, Chinnayya, Sivanandam and Vativelu.
